The coronavirus pandemic has affected millions of people across the globe, including college students. Schools and colleges have shifted classes online for the rest of the semester, graduation and other school activities have been cancelled and students’ academic plans have been affected. Many Tallahassee Community College students returned home, some students stayed in town, but all of them are doing their best to fulfill their academic requirements to finish out the semester despite the societal upheaval.

After Spring Break, our nation turned into a disaster.

This pandemic called the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has affected the entire world. Students aren’t able to go back to school. People have to work from home. This virus has changed everyone’s lives.

This is my third semester at Tallahassee Community College but also my worst! All of my classes have moved to online. I absolutely hate it.

I perform best when I sit in a real classroom in front of my professor. I can barely focus at home because I am stuck in my room. My room makes me sleepy and dreary and I don’t want to do anything.

I planned to party and just be free with my friends during Spring Break, but sadly we have to be in the house. Hanging out with my friends and having fun was everything I was looking forward to.

I work at Zaxby’s full-time and now my job is cutting hours. No one can work as much.

Literally everything is being limited. You can’t even go to a grocery store and purchase excessive amounts of anything: food, water, bleach, soap, tissue, paper towels or hand sanitizer.

How long will this last?

Did I mention that there’s been a curfew implemented in my city from 11 p.m.-5 a.m.? No one can be on the road.

I’m very upset but also scared. I am afraid because I already have health issues. If this virus gets a hold of me, that may be it for me. I don’t know if I will make it.

If we, as the United States, weren’t so careless, things like this wouldn’t be happening.

Can the world just go back to how it was?  Let’s not be inconsiderate and think about others.
