My generation is the most diverse and largest, generation in the country. This year we have been through so much, a most notably global pandemic which is ongoing. For months now we have mostly been stuck inside behind computer screens. But there is something to look forward to this year, and it’s voting on Nov. 3!

Voter turnout jumped from 45% to 52% within a year of midterm elections. Some young people believe that our votes do not count, when in reality if we come together and vote it creates a huge difference in who wins or loses the election we are participating in. That is why Florida PIRG Students are working to increase voter turnout by registering over 10,000 students to vote across the state and help them turn out at the polls for the election coming up in November.

It is very crucial to get young people involved in the voting process, so we as college students should come together to shape our future by going out to vote, submitting a ballot, pledging to vote, and or registering to vote at studentvote.org.
