Tallahassee Community College Assistant Professors of Physical Science Joseph McNeil and Greogory Brown hold Astronomy Night twice a semester for students to gather and stargaze at the nighttime sky through a telescope. The latest event was held on Oct.19 on top of the TCC parking garage.

Tallahassee Community College Faculty Members Joseph McNeil and Gregory Brown work on adjusting multiple adapters to set up the telescope for viewing. The adapter normally used for the telescope was forgotten, thankfully it was figured out and the telescope ended up working. “We did find a box full of adapters though,” McNeil said. “We readjusted it, got some that mounted and didn’t work, so we’ve got it working now.”

Marshall found that looking at the moon through the telescope was fascinating. “It definitely gives you a much better view than what you see everyday. The naked eye is just not equipped to make out all the really fascinating details.” Marshall said.

The next event for “Astronomy Night” will be held on Nov. 9 on top of the TCC parking garage. The event will start at 7:30 p.m. and will be available to all students who are interested in looking at Jupiter.
