The Talon staff decided to come together and combine all of their unique and interesting music tastes onto a playlist for everyone’s enjoyment! From classic pop and rock to Christian gospel to rap and hip hop, the Talon playlist will surely have music to suit your style!

  • Asta chose her songs “Breezeblocks” by Alt-J, “A Certain Romance” by Arctic Monkeys, and “Where is my mind” by the Pixies, and any Wild Belle song or songs by The Strokes. These songs are her favorites because they make her “feel alive and forget reality”.

  • Keyton chose and described Anderson Paak’s “Am I Wrong”. He stated that “Am I Wrong” is “one of (his) favorites because it encompasses all of the essential parts of a great song without compromising uniqueness.” Keyton also chose “Bullets” by Kaytranada. He “personally, (loves) a good 808, but not the traditional trap and hip hop style. The 808 in this song is as smooth as it gets, and it sits nicely in one of the most incredible spatial arrangements that (he’s) ever heard.”

  • Amber selected “Boredom” by Tyler the Creator, “Mother we share” by Chvches, and “Bulletproof Love” by Pierce the Veil . “Mother we share” reminds her of hanging out with with her friends back in 11th grade in the back of the car.

  • Kevon chose “Best Part” by h.e.r., “Free” by 6LACK and “Midsummer Madness” by 88rising. “Theses are (his) favorite songs because when (he) first heard them (he) was going through something difficult and these songs really took away the stress and worrying.”

  • Ricky went with “Hallelujah” by Jeff Buckley, “Christ Alone” by Passion/Kristian Stanfill and “Nearer my God to thee” by the Piano Guys. He summarizes with, “What is true music?” Ricky answers this question with one word. Worship. Worship with the Creator of the Universe. Singing songs praising God is one of the ways (he) connects with (his) Maker.”

  • Vanessa picked “Doesn’t Matter” by Gallant, “Hello Ego” by Jhen Aiko, and “Cruzin” by Snakeships. These songs are her favorite because “when (she’s) driving either in (her) car or simply listening to them on (her) headphones (she will) feel the inspiration spark.”

  • Allison chose “Edge” by Rezz. It was a hard decision for her to make but I believe the vibe of the song suits her perfectly.

  • And I, Jarrett, chose “Into the Light” by J. Views, “Everytime” by Ariana Grande and “Nothings Gonna Hurt You Baby” by Cigarettes After Sex. My favorite songs change every week but these are some of the songs that have kept my interest longer than most songs.
